The Untold Story of Lilith

In this series, Karly Venn reimagines the untold story of Lilith—not through the lens of patriarchal tradition, but through Lilith’s own eyes. Using studio portraiture and still life, Venn constructs a visual narrative of Lilith’s time in the Garden of Eden: a period of sensual discovery, independence, and communion with nature. Surrounded by the abundance of fruit, Lilith savors the richness of life before ultimately choosing to leave the Garden—not in exile, but in empowerment. She turns away from the control of Adam and the narrative imposed on Eve, embracing her femininity and the freedom that lies beyond the grasp of male dominion.
