Karly Venn is a photographer based in Brooklyn, New York.

Venn is an interdisciplinary photographer specializing in fashion, portraiture, and botanical photography. Currently a student at Pratt Institute, Venn is majoring in a BFA in photography, minoring in writing and literature, and will graduate in Spring 2026. Karly Venn’s editorial and studio work is based on fashion and beauty, with the occasional addition of still-life flair. She is proficient in digital and film techniques, using both equally throughout her practice. In her conceptual works, she explores gender, feminism, botanicals, human rights issues, and mental health. Outside of photography, Venn finds inspiration in olfactory art, art history, women’s history, collage, and gardening.

Karly Venn was awarded first place for mixed media in Colorado’s 2022 Congressional Art Show and second place for photography in the 2020 Congressional Show years prior. In an effort to support the causes she photographs, Venn has participated in two Brooklyn community zines, the proceeds of which were donated to abortion rights–after Roe v. Wade was overturned–and the Trevor Project.
